While at a premium Pennsylvania Wine And Spirits store the other day, I spotted a bottle of Sena 2000 and was intrigued. This 375 ml bottle of wine had a retail value of $40.00 but as a Chairman’s Selection, was on sale for $15.00. Since this was the first time I had noticed a premium, dry red wine in this size bottle (most other wines packaged in a 375 ml bottle are usually ice wines or dessert wines), I couldn’t pass this one up. I’m very glad I didn’t!
Sena 2000 is my idea of a near-perfect dry, red wine. Fruity, and luscious with soft, supple, tannins and a long, pleasant finish. To read the full review go to Wine-Reviews.
It’s interesting to note that Sena is a collaborative effort between Errazuriz, of Chile and Robert Mondovi, of California. It is considered a world-class wine; produced in small quantities and distributed to select wine distributers. I’m so glad I was able to get my hands on a bottle and will try to acquire a few more. They will make great gifts for very special people, that is, if I can bear to part with any.
