Being the daughter referenced in this blog, I can honestly say ditto to everything. These wines were spectacular and I can't wait to drink them again. My husband has been vigilantly searching for those vintages on the internet before they disappear. On Thanksgiving Day we enjoyed a fabulous meal prepared by the "wine-reviewer" which we paired with a Double Magnum of 2002 Mer Soleil Chardonnay. We were introduced to this particular wine at The Melting Pot in Pittsburgh, PA where it went wonderfully with the fondue meal. This particular vintage has been described as a "small nuclear explosion in the mouth". So if you enjoy big, buttery Chardonnay's my husband and I highly recommend giving this one a try.

Thank you so much for your comment and suggestion. I have not heard of the winery you suggested, but will check them out. I'm always on the lookout for new wines to try and a local winery is an added bonus.

A suggestion to the wine tasting club.

You are surrounded by award winning wineries in the Susquehanna Valley and Lehigh Valley. May I suggest that when you are doing your wine tasting, you include a quality vintage from a local winery.

With the shiraz/syrah tasting, I would suggest the Syrah from Vynecrest winery near Allentown. I sampled some this past weekend and found it to be excellent. From the nose through the finish, it can stand up to most of the more celebrated wines and at about $11.00 per bottle, it's an incredible value.

Enjoy
